The tragedy that had struck Oklahoma City just recently, wherein a powerful tornado slammed down over 3-km wide across the suburb of Moore pounding to pieces anything along its path, is a bare manifestation that the environment is really, really in great danger. This is a wake up call not only for the US but for all the nations of the world. The devastation is unimaginable basing on the aftermath of this catastrophic event, and from the accounts of those who have been affected by this force of nature. Once again, it only proves that there is nothing more powerful than the ferocity of nature.
Seriously, something concrete has to be done to address this problem of climate change. Otherwise, this peculiar effect of climate change will continue to wreak havoc within the bounds of its might, causing more devastations, loss of lives and billions of dollars worth of properties around the world.
Apparently, the various environmental groups, relentlessly trying to find the best possible solutions, are at a loss to understand the matrix of coming up with a mitigating solutions, given the limited resources that they have, the actions to take on, the things to avoid and which concerns have to be given serious considerations. This is a tough task to undertake considering that in order to achieve their goal of a unified force, it needs a radical approach to reverse the effect of climate change.
Over and again, the efforts to come up with a solution that will have a definitive effect on reversing the effect of climate change have proven to be inconclusive if not ineffective at all. The disagreement expressed by some nations, some of whom have considerably contributed so much collateral damage to the environment, has caused a deadlock on finding ways appropriate to address the issue. For obvious reason, their disagreement arises from the possibility of serious consequences that it would bring to their economy in general.
By all accounts, the tornado that hit Oklahoma City is nothing more than a clear demonstration of human's abusive misdeeds against the environment. In most part of the Arab region, it's very unusual that raining has become part of their annual season, which is very rare in their case during the last 30 years. On one occasion, many people have lost their lives when continuous rainfall suddenly cascaded down in all streets of some of the Saudi Arabian suburbs. Unprepared and unexpecting, some of its citizens were caught by surprise and have drowned and died instantly.
What's going to happen next, is something we are not sure about. No one is assured of his safety considering the different catastrophes that have just struck the world lately. Maybe the best thing to do is to push harder those who have the biggest influence to take on bolder steps to address these pressing problems of climate change.
Without our collective efforts, determination, perseverance and true vision at the top, our dreams of worry-free environment would never be realized and achieved soon. Hope will just remain behind the shadow of man's atrocity towards his environment.
