f you have big chips to spend then, the Audi R8 is a sleek coupe, no one would mind having in their stable of super cars. But at $109,000 the Audi R8 is a steal. Yes if the car were only 109 stacks. We'd see a larger amount of them on the road. Unfortunately for some greed prevails over good business sense. That is why upon the release of the Audi R8, dealers have a $40,000 - $100,000 buyer's premium included in the price of the car. The only problem with that is the R8, as spectacular as it is, isn't a $200,000 super-machine. It is still a super machine non the less.

The R8's might V8 pumps out a whopping 420 horsepower. The most remarkable thing about the R8's performance is that peak torque is delivered at relatively low rpm. 317 lbs of torque is delivered in the R8 from 4500 - 6000 rpm. 90 percent of the R8 maximums torque is delivered from 3500 rpm. Because of high torque with minimal rpm's the R8 has the capability to catapult to high speeds from nearly any driving situation.

Blasting to a top speed of over 185 mph the R8 is a virtuoso of speed. It gallops from 0-60 in under 4.5 seconds. This can all be achieved through a six speed manual gearbox or Audi's R-tronic sequential shifter. Much like many of its competitors you can shift gears through a lever or though a provided floppy paddle gear box. All in all the Audi R8 is a fin piece of work.
