There are hundreds and thousands of cheap skin products available in the markets which are attracting the eyes of the potential customers. The companies which promote these branded products are huge MNC's and have a corporate structure which is very expensive to maintain due to the heavy budget they spend on advertising on TV, glossy magazines and celebrity endorsements.

The only way they know to manage their cost is by compromising on the quality of the ingredients used in the products. So, these companies resort to using harmful ingredients which can be fatal for human life. Some of these ingredients and their effects are listed below:

1) Mineral Oils - It is also known by various different names like: liquid paraffin, paraffin wax and petrolatum. It is used because it is cheaply available. It serves as a moisturizing agent for the skin, but in turn it also clogs the skin's pores and suffocates the skin from breathing freely. It can cause acnes, allergies, inflammation and skin disorders.

2) Acryl amide - It can cause breast tumors and these substances are generally found in hand and skin care products.

3) Parabens - These are preservatives and are very commonly used in skin care products to increase their shelf life. It delays the expiry date of the product, but it is harmful for the consumers. Parabens can cause cancer and skin allergies.

There are various other chemical and alcohols which are used in these products as they are cheaply available and they make the products even cheaper. My advice to all of you would be to try products only from elite and niche manufacturers who do not compromise on the quality, after all money can not be dearer than life.
