Dick and Jay sat on the ground outside the shed. The downpour pelted down on them. They gazed in dismay at the pool of mud surrounding them. The Piper Cub drooped in the mud a couple feet before them. Neither a wet feathered creature nor sloppy squirrel could be seen.
"It will be similar to this for quite a while," said Jay, bleakly, "as indicated by the climate report."
Dick weakly informed the joke regarding the meteorologist who left town in light of the fact that the climate didn't concur with him- -yet neither of them snickered. The downpour fell without regret.
"Kid, young men, young men," said an excellent lady with coppery hair. She had a crisp composition. She wore a wet, marginally sloppy, mauve dress. She sat down between them, covering them with her pink umbrella.
Dick kissed his wife on the face. He came to down into the vanilla box for his sandwich. The crate tumbled out of his hands and arrived in a puddle. It glided.
"That is it," yelled Jay. He snatched Dick's elbow. "Don't you see- - that is it!"
It just took a day to add the expanded barge vessels to the Piper Cub. Presently rather than wheels, it had skims. Presently, rather than the sloppy runway, they utilized the stream.
However, another disaster anticipated: a lightning tempest. An electrical discharge struck the cabin, shattering it.
Without an office, it was difficult to run operations.
Dick, then again, discovered an answer. He purchased a chicken coop starting from the farmer the street for $25.
"One final yard," said Dick, conversing with the old female horse. The horse snorted as it dragged along the chicken coop.
In the wake of propping up the chicken coop, Dick started whitewashing it.
"There," said Dick, slapping on the last coat.
He ventured back to join his wife, Doreen, and his accomplice, Jay. Every one of them respected the brilliant chicken coop. It gladly bore the blue legend "Wolverine Air Service."
"Before long," said Dick, "Millions will be flying their own particular planes. They'll come to us and we'll show them."
"Furthermore, it just cost us $200 to get this Piper Cub," included Jay.
"Planes will swarm the air, the way autos do the ground," anticipated Dick.
Simply then a freckled-confronted young fellow came up to them.
"Is this your school?" he asked, squinting at Dick.
"Have you desire lessons?" asked Dick.
"Darn right!"
